Stressless Journeys Terms of Hire

"Stressless Journeys LTD" registered company in England & Wales Company No. 6535625
"HIRER" Means the Hirer of the Equipment
"EQUIPMENT" Means the products or Equipment itemised on the Confirmation of Order or Invoice and these Terms & Conditions shall apply to the agreement under which the Equipment is to be hired.

  1. The Rental Period is that which is stated on the booking form and will run from one day upwards. We have set prices for weekly hires extra days will be added at the weekly rate divided by days. There is a minimum of one week hire for certain products detailed in our website.
  2. Payment shall be taken immediately for the Rental Period and should be made by a valid credit or debit card in UK Sterling.
    1. Rental Costs of £25.00 or more will include free delivery.
    2. Payment for the Equipment supplied under these Terms must be made on order and payment will be confirmed on the Order Confirmation
    3. A Confirmation of booking and payment will be sent via email
    4. The period of the hire agreement shall be specified in the Order Confirmation.
  3. The Hirer will be required to leave a security deposit of £120.00 for satellite navigation & Game console equipment and £200.00 for all other equipment.
    1. The deposit will be a pre authorisation of funds on the hirers credit or debit card.
    2. All Pre Authorisations will be taken five working days prior to the hirers rental period.
    3. Stressless Journeys will automatically secure the deposit on the same credit or debit card used for payment unless advised otherwise. Should your credit or debit card fail to authorise and we are unable to contact you or you are unable to provide an alternative credit or debit card to process the deposit your reservation will be cancelled and a cancellation charge will apply.
    4. Any loss, damage, cancellations or late return of equipment will be taken from the deposit and the balance of the deposit will be returned to the customer.
  4. The Rental Period will start on the day the Equipment is delivered to the hirer’s offered delivery address.
    1. The end of Rental the Period is the day the unit is handed to the Post Office for Royal Mail Special Delivery next day by 1pm.
    2. Late returns are payable at £10.00 per day and will be taken from your deposit. If the product is returned with missing component/s then the customer is liable for a late return payment until the missing component/s is/are returned.
  5. All of our TomTom units come installed with the latest maps direct from the manufacturer. Stressless Journeys provide the very latest equipment and try to provide every unit with the most up to date mapping. However Stressless Journeys holds no responsibility for the maps accuracy.
    1. All our Hand held consoles will be provided with one free game from the choice on our website.
    2. All our camcorders are provided with a complimentary DVD-R Disk.
    3. Our child tracking Unit will be provided with one free whist tag other wrist tags up to a maximum of 4 can be added at an additional cost.
  6. All our Products are checked prior to dispatch.
    1. The Hirer should inspect the equipment upon delivery and notify Stressless Journeys immediately by email or telephone of any defect.
    2. If no such notification is given then it will be presumed that the equipment was delivered in good and working order and fit for it's purpose as required.
  7. For rental charges of £25.00 or more we will include free delivery to your specified address.
    1. It is your responsibility to collect and return the equipment where applicable and within the stated time period.
    2. Late charges will apply at £10 per day.
    3. We send all products via our designated courier next day service.
    4. All Equipment must be returned using Royal mail special delivery by 1pm Service. This shall be at the hirers cost.
  8. The Hirer will observe and adhere to all the instructions relating to the correct use of the Equipment and keep the Equipment in good condition.
    1. The Hirer will be held entirely responsible for any subsequent loss or damage to the equipment resulting in failure to observe such instructions, or failure to use the equipment in a proper manner.
    2. The Hirer will be responsible for the replacement cost of any damaged or lost components or any repair.
    3. Stressless Journey accept no responsibility or liability for any damage to or failure of operation of the Equipment due to any incompatibility with any other Equipment used by the Hirer and the Hirer will be liable in this instance.
    4. Stressless Journeys undertake to report the damage to the Hirer within 24-hours of its arrival back to it's premises.
  9. In the event of any failure of the Equipment the Hirer shall immediately provide Stressless Journeys with a written notice specifying the failure.
    1. Should the Equipment failure prove to be due to misuse or the fault of the Hirer in any way, Stressless Journeys reserves the right to pass on the costs of repair charges to the Hirer.
  10. The Hirer shall be solely responsible for the safe return of the hired equipment and all its component parts.
    1. The Hirer shall be responsible for hire cost until such time as the hired equipment and/or any missing components are returned at the rate of £10.00 per day.
    2. Should any equipment be lost in the post then the hirer will be charged the full cost to replace the equipment after 2 weeks. The customer will be able to claim these charges back from the Royal Mail providing the equipment was sent by Special Delivery and the customer has retained the tracking number.
  11. Stressless Journeys reserve the right to change the date of delivery or to cancel if it is prevented from or delayed in the carrying on of its business due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the company including, without limitation, acts of God, governmental actions, war or national emergency, acts of terrorism, protests, riot, civil commotion, fire, explosion, flood, epidemic, lock-outs, strikes or other labour disputes, or restraints or delays affecting couriers or inability or delay in obtaining equipment.
    1. This relates to those matters required by the EC Directive on Distance Selling as ratified by the Consumer Protection Regulations 2000 which applies where the Contract is entered into through the Website.
  12. Cancellation charges shall apply as per the below table of charges

    0-2 days notice of cancellation 100% of rental charge
    2-5 days notice of cancellation 50% of rental charge
    Over 5 days notice of cancellation 25% of rental charge to cover our administration fee
    1. A Cancellation charge may apply to any booking the Hirer is unable to honour prior to the commencement of the Rental Period. All cancellations must be made in Writing to admin@Stresslessjourneys.com and will take effect from the date received by us.
    2. No refund shall be given if any discrepancy on the order confirmation is not identified by the customer and results in the wrong product sent or delivery on the wrong dates.
  13. The Equipment and products supplied and leased under these Terms comprise Equipment selected from that available on the Stressless Journeys Website.
  14. By placing an order to hire our equipment you are agreeing to these terms and conditions as laid out above.

    Contracts do not affect your statutory rights.

    Stressless Journeys may want to email you from time to time with information of Special Offers and different products available through the Stressless Journeys website. Please note that Stressless Journeys will never disclose your email address or any other personal details to any third party companies.
